Non-shared solar energy systems
Engineering, installation, operation and maintenance
It includes a solar system independent of the electrical grid. This system is called off-grid, and requires that the solar panels be able to produce enough electricity to cover 100% of the building’s energy needs.
Most homes have a higher demand for electricity during the day or at night, so off-grid systems usually include either a battery (to store energy produced during the day), a backup power source (such as a generator), or both.
Off-grid systems are more complex and less flexible than grid-tied systems.
